The Colorado Arts &Crafts Society (CACS) will host its popular “Gathering of the Guilds” at the historic Boettcher Mansion. Nestled within the Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve, the 1917 National Register landmark was built as a seasonal getaway for Colorado entrepreneur Charles Boettcher and currently operates as a special events venue. Founded in 1997, CACS sponsors ongoing educational programs pertaining to the aesthetic significance of the Arts & Crafts movement (1880-1920) within America.
This year, vendors will include Annalee’s Naturals, Beth Bradford Studio, Black Birch Studio, Book Arts League, Chinook Pottery, Colorado Calligraphers’ Guild, Colorado Woodworkers Guild, Golden Moon Distillery, Guild of Bookworkers, Handweavers Guild of Boulder; Julie Fletcher Interior Design, Mission West, Nikki Nienhuis Fine Art, Rocky Mountain Marquetry Guild, Rocky Mountain Metalsmiths, Rocky Mountain Silk Painters, Rocky Mountain Society of Botanical Artists and 2R Fine Arts Appraisals.
Presentations will include Jeff Icenhower from Mission West on “Artistic Leather in Arts and Crafts Decor” and Robert Rust from 2R Fine Arts Appraisals on “Metalworking in Colorado”. In addition, many artisans will be offering hands-on demonstrations of their craft throughout the day. Admission is $5 per person. Show hours are 10 AM – 4 PM and food & beverages will be available for purchase on site. The Boettcher Mansion is located at 900 Colorow Road atop Lookout Mountain in Golden.
